Radiation Safety Gauge Operator Training
This course introduces students to basic radiation physics terminology, the different types of radiation and explains how those radiation types interact with matter and what materials serve to protect against different types of radiation. Health safety forms an integral part of the training. The concept of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) is introduced and how to reduce exposure.
State and Federal regulations are covered in depth emphasizing security, safety, occupational exposure limits, and public exposure limits. CFR 49 Subpart H is discussed along with the required documentation.
